Across the river into St. Louis County
West St. Louis County has the biggest and oldest trees we work on. The estate lots of Ladue and Town & Country carry white oaks that predate the houses, and Chesterfield's old lots hold some of the largest oaks in the metro. Ballwin and Maryland Heights were planted with sweetgums, pin oaks, silver maples, and ash that are now at full size over modest lots. Wildwood sits on wooded acreage that is closer to forest than yard. Tree work here is about scale and protection: heavy wood over slate roofs and gardens that took decades to establish.

Yes, with restraint and the right timing. Oak pruning in St. Louis County stays in the dormant season because of oak wilt, every cut has a reason, and over-pruning a century-old oak does more harm than leaving it alone. We would rather keep a good oak alive than bill for removing it.
